How would you like to straighten your teeth without needing to wear braces? If your teeth are crooked, crowded, or spaced too far apart, Invisalign® treatment may be the clear choice for you. Invisalign aligners are often called “removable braces” because the aligners are made from a clear, lightweight material that slips over the teeth without the need for any brackets or wires. Best of all, you remove them at mealtimes, so you can eat and brush your teeth just like usual.
We have two Certified Invisalign Providers at Dental Arts of South Jersey. Call us today at (856) 942-1738 to schedule an Invisalign consultation. You’ll leave your first appointment knowing how Invisalign treatment could help you or your family member have a radiant smile, how quickly it would work, and how you can fit the cost into your monthly budget.
Crooked teeth and spacing problems can make you feel self-conscious. Even worse, having a “bad bite” can lead to a higher risk of cavities, gum disease and tooth loss. Invisalign treatment corrects these problems and can improve your overall dental health.
The other big benefit of Invisalign treatment is cosmetic. Unlike braces, the Invisalign aligners are practically invisible. Your friends, family, and colleagues may not even notice that you’re wearing the aligners. Other advantages include:
The Invisalign system moves teeth into proper alignment by using a progressive series of clear, comfortable aligners (retainers). That means each aligner is in a slightly different shape designed to move the teeth slowly and gently toward their final, straight position.
After you come in to Dental Arts of South Jersey to have your Invisalign consultation, either our orthodontist or Invisalign-trained dentist will take an impression of your teeth and send it to a dental lab. The dental lab creates the prescribed number of Invisalign aligners by using the latest advances in 3D computer technology and manufacturing methods. How many aligners you need and how long you’ll have to wear them depends on the complexity of your specific case and how much your teeth need to move. Most Invisalign treatment plans last about a year.
Typically, you wear an aligner for about two weeks and then switch to a new one, following a routine set by our Invisalign orthodentist. You’ll return to our dental office in Voorhees for check-ups and to pick up more aligners about every six weeks.
For the best results, our team recommends you wear your Invisalign aligners 20-to-22 hours a day, removing them only when you eat, drink, brush or floss. You should also remove the aligners if you smoke.
Once you finish your Invisalign treatment, we generally recommended that you wear a retainer, just as you would if you’d worn braces, to help keep your teeth in alignment. Be sure to discuss this with your dentist.
Invisalign Teen is an Invisalign product designed for teenagers who have their permanent teeth. It’s a popular option for teenagers with who play sports, play musical instruments, or simply prefer the look of clear aligners over metal braces.
Invisalign Teen works the same way as Invisalign, but includes a monitoring element. Invisalign Teen aligners include a small, color-changing dot that is visible to the dentist. This allows our Invisalign dentist to tell at a glance whether the teenager has been wearing the aligners for the recommend amount of time. Invisalign only works when it’s actually touching the teeth, so it’s very important for teenagers to ensure they are following instructions and wearing the aligners for at least 20 hours a day.
The other difference between Invisalign and Invisalign Teen is that more replacement aligners are usually provided with Invisalign Teen just in case a set gets broken or lost.
When you come in for your Invisalign consultation, our Invisalign provider will examine your teeth and create a custom-made treatment plan for you. Factors that influence the cost may include your treatment goals, the length of treatment, the number of aligners you need, and the complexity of the case. In general, the cost of Invisalign treatment is similar to the cost of traditional braces.
Many dental insurance policies include an orthodontics benefit. Since insurance coverage for Invisalign differs from policy to policy, we recommend you review your policy or call your insurance carrier to see if it’s covered. Typically, a policy that covers braces will also cover Invisalign.
A flexible spending account (FSA) can help minimize your costs by allowing you to put $2,550 of pretax dollars toward the cost of your Invisalign treatment.
For those without insurance coverage or the means to pay the entire amount up front, ask our team about a plan for flexible, affordable monthly payments.
